I am a good people-reader. I can walk into pretty much any room, gauge the mood of the room, and adjust my mood accordingly.  Same with one-on-one conversation.  I can sense how a person is feeling, just...instinctively.  It's weird.  I've always been that way.  If someone is down, I can sense whether or not they want to talk about it.  I don't have to ask.  I just feel it.  And I'll either ask what's going on, or I'll just sit with them and let us "be" together.  I can tell when someone is in the mood to laugh or in the mood to talk or in the right frame of mind to have a serious discussion.  I can pretty quickly suss out how to approach the families in the hospital.  I feel really blessed to have this ability.  It helps me avoid sticky, awkward situations.  And, I think most importantly, it makes people feel really comfortable around me*.  It's something that people have always commented on about me.  Someone suggested that I should pursue Social Work because of it.

*Except when I'm being mean.

  1. My boss is VERY easy to read, that I'm thankful for. Some days you just have to walk on eggshells around her! Haha
