Any Other Photo

Hey all!  Matt and I are the featured "Any Other Photo" over at Any Other Wedding today!  Head over and check it out!

I didn't discover Any Other Wedding until about a month ago, and even though Matt and I are 9 months past our wedding date, I still really enjoy reading this blog.  They talk about weddings in a very realistic way.  They don't fluff things, they tell it like it is.  I would have appreciated finding that before our wedding - I think it would have helped take some of the stress off.  So jump on over, enjoy our post, and peruse the rest of the blog!

Almost time!

We finally got an email from our photographer - our album is done, our enormous print is framed, and our disc of photos is ready to go!  Now we just have to go pick them up.  Unfortunately, we're not planning to be in Hershey anytime soon.  But my parents are coming down to see us next weekend for my birthday, and they're going to pick everything up for us!  I'm so excited!  Mostly because I can't wait to finally hang our prints, but also because I can't wait to finally start my recaps for you!  And to put the pictures up on facebook.  And to order them for our "regular" album.  Ok, so I'm just really excited to get my hands on them!!!

I'm Dying

The night before Christmas Eve, Matt and I stopped in at the photographer's to pick out the frame for our ridiculously-sized-over-the-mantle-hey-everyone-look-at-us picture.  We also had to pick up the 8x10s we ordered for our parents for Christmas gifts.  While there, I asked about our album.  She said it'd probably be done in a couple of weeks.  Meaning, like, any day now.

So, you guys...I'm dying!  Just dying!  I reeeeeaaaaallllly want to get our disc of photos so I can look through them all again and start our recaps!  And I want to see our album!  And the ginormous picture!  Aaggghh!!

Getting There...

We got the online proof of our album from our photographer, which means I am one step closer to starting recaps!  As soon as we approve the online proof, they will send it to the printer, and then send the finished product to us, along with the CD of all of our images.  Ugh, I'm just dying to get my hands on all of it!!!!

Photo Teaser

So, our wedding day?  Best. Day. Ever. We had so much fun.  It was absolutely perfect.  It's true, you know.  What they say.  That it goes by so fast.  It really does.  In the moment, that day, it didn't seem like it was.  But the next morning, when I woke up, I was like..."Wait.  No.  That can't be it!"  I just wanted to do it all over again.

We literally had the perfect day.  The weather was gorgeous.  There were no major issues (at least none that we knew of).  Our coordinator, David, from Weddings by JDK, handled everything.  Our bridal party stepped in when we needed them.  Our friends and family laughed and smiled and cried with us.  Best of all?  We glowed.  We both just glowed.  All day long.  I've never felt so happy, and Matt's never looked so happy.  I plan to hold onto that forever.

The day after the wedding, we went over to my parents' house.  My stepdad had recorded several things throughout the day, and we watched the videos.  We got to watch our ceremony.  And it was perfect, just as we remembered it.  Jeff (my stepdad) ran out to pick up a flash drive so he could copy them for us to take along.  I'll admit, I've already watched it a few times.  Friends were posting pictures to facebook (everyone waited, just as we'd asked).  On Tuesday, we left for our honeymoon.  Just a few days after we arrived in St. Lucia for our honeymoon, we checked our emails and facebook.  Everlasting Images had put some pictures up on facebook...

Aren't they gorgeous?!  We also got an email the day before we got home that all of our pictures were up on their website.  I don't have full access to them, yet, so I can't post them.  But as soon as we pick the photos for our album, we'll get a disc with all of the images.  And I'll start some recaps.  But it'll be a while.  There are a lot of pictures, and I have no idea how we'll choose among all of them!

Tell Us a Story (pic heavy!)

I want our wedding pictures to tell the story of our day.  Not to show us standing around, formally posed, looking awkward and like we're dying to get moving already!  Or totally awkward poses, like "Ok, wedding party, watch the bride and groom kiss and act like you're really thrilled about it!"  Ugh.  But I wasn't sure how to convey this to our photographer without being like, "Um, hey...don't make our wedding pictures suck."  So, I started searching for inspiration.  Man, there's lots of inspiration out there!  Ready?

I love these of the wedding party:

We're having a trolley!
I feel like this bride is thinking, "Ahhh...I love my girls!"
Hershey has a really similar crosswalk...
I love this picture of the guys walking into the ceremony
That gorgeous bride in the middle is my friend Lauren (sniped from her facebook page)
Also from Lauren's wedding
This bride is my friend Davina (sniped from her facebook)
Davina's hubby and GM - this picture makes me think of the movie Reservoir Dogs
From our photographer!
There's just something I love about this
Yay!  Love fest!
But wait, there's more!  How great are these of the couple?

I love how the focus is ever-so-slightly more on the flowers
Lauren and her hubby again.  I love this one
Woo-hoo!  We're married!
And these detail shots?!

I die!

I die again!
Another gorgeous shot from our photographer
I like this askew photo (from our photographer again)
I want our photographer to take a picture like this of our program!
And one like this of my grandmother's ring on my bouquet
There are a few in that big old list from our photographer, Everlasting Images in Hershey.  We fell in love with their photos the first time we saw them.  They send their images off to a publisher in Italy for this fancy finish, and the books have a metallic look to them.  It's impossible to capture on the internet, but just trust me that they are absolutely amazing.  When we met with them to book them, they told us that one of their shooters loves to photograph at the Antique Auto Museum, and was actually planning her own wedding there.  So we're really excited that she's going to be one of our photographers for the day.
